homemade wreath and thrift store mirror

I just Looove this time of year for so many reasons :-) One of them is being able to decorate my house and putting up our Christmas tree. We decided to do a real tree again this year and I am so so SO happy we did! We actually got ours at Wal Mart and it looks amazing! The only problem is that when we got home we had to trim it quite a bit.....so we had all this leftover stuff....and let me tell you- I have had the MOST fun with it all :-)

First of all, I do not know what I love most about this picture!! Could it be the cute giraffe pillows I got on clearance at Wal Mart this summer?
What about the mirror that my mom found at a thrift store for $5.00!??? (which by the way, my mom is THE queen b for finding cute things at thrift stores/goodwill/yard sales! There is NO way I could have furnished my house and salon with cute things without her!!) Anyway, about the mirror, it used to be an old medicine cabinet...Well, we took the medicine cabinet part off- painted it with an antique white- distressed it- then glazed it with a mocha glaze :-) Love. Love. Love.
Or it could be the wreath that I made with leftovers from our tree :-) I just wrapped it all with a craft wire... hot glued some pine cones on.... spray painted it all gold.... then tied a cute ribbon on top :-)
But maybe my favorite thing is that I can see our Christmas tree lights in the mirror :-) I just don't know, all I know it that I absolutely LOVE it. I could look at it all day!

Thanks so much for stopping by :-) To see more amazing Christmas decor check out the DIY Showoff!!

one lucky girl :)

This past weekend was so much fun! Josh's birthday was Friday so HAPPY (late..) BIRTHDAY SWEETIE! I was bummed because on Wednesday of last week I started feeling sick. I knew it was my allergies but the same thing happened last year on Josh's birthday... We had a big weekend planned so I knew I had better get to feeling better! I wanted him to have a wonderful birthday so even though I was feeling yucky, we went out to eat Friday night with some of his friends to his fav: Buffalo Wild Wings :) It was sooo good. Afterwards, we saw a real scary movie... so scary that I thought about it all night...that's why I need to stay away from those crazy things! Anyway, Saturday night we had our family and a few friends over to watch the TN game. We had chili and cheeseburger potato soup. Yummmm :) Sunday was great also. Josh and I had a relaxing evening here at home with Kobe. We watched movies and ate leftover chili and birthday cake. Doesn't get any better! While we were laying here on the couch, I couldn't help but think about all the Lord has blessed me with. I have a husband whom I absolutely adore & is so good to me, an amazing family and great friends, a home & a job that I love... I seriously have pretty much :) all I have ever wanted!! Thank you Jesus!!!

Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37:11
